SHELBY - Lily Irene Glenn Tessener, 85, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Charlotte Moore Glenn.
She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and worked as a bookkeeper and cashier at Western Steer Steak House in Shelby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Tessener; sister, Mary D. Glenn Lynn; four brothers, Boyce, Palmer, Harrison and Baxter Glenn; and two nieces, Marsha Glenn and Barbara Lynn Marsh.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Donnis Chappeta and husband Tommy of Greenville, S.C.; many extended family members; close friends, Sara Eubanks, Aimee Pope, Betty Martin and Betty White; her much loved caregiver, Donna Turner; and her precious "Penny," her dog.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home
Graveside celebration of life service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Cleveland Memorial Park
