CONCORD-Mrs. Mary Ella Brooks McClain, 72, of Glen Haven Drive, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center in Concord.

Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Cletus and Louise Bridges Brooks.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed watching football and racing.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, John David Brooks.
Mrs. McClain is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert "Bob" McClain Jr.; four children, Calvin Humphries and wife Marlene of Concord, LuJuan Dover of Boiling Springs, Myron Dover of Newton, and Benny McClain of Faith; a sister, Sharon Cantrell and husband Jack of Shelby; a brother, Donald Brooks of Hickory; sister-in-law, Sylvia Langston of Greensboro; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; special friends, Melony Lewis, Marty Murray Jr. and Mary Smith McClain; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Celebration of Life Service: 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory
