HICKORY- Mary Canipe Mosteller, 89, of Hickory, went to be with her Lord on May 1, 2013, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Oct. 7, 1923, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Lottie Lattimore Canipe.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church in Casar, but she attended Calvary Baptist Church and Penelope Baptist Church. She loved flowers, especially roses. Mary was the most wonderful cook and baker. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She made all the birthday cakes and wedding cakes for her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Forrest Edward Mosteller; three sisters; and five brothers.
Survivors include her children, Jackie Marshall and husband Bobby of Granite Falls, Donna Mosteller of Hickory, Neil Mosteller of the home; grandchildren, Angela Carter and husband Scott of Charlotte, Chris Marshall and wife Melissa of Granite Falls, Dawn Letterman and husband Mark of Conover, Doug Threewitt and wife Kim of Greensboro, Eddie Threewitt and wife Jenna of Charlotte, Joshua Mosteller of the home; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Andrew, Amanda, Jadelynn, Jamison, Kendal; soon to be great-grandchild, Jackson Edward; and special niece, Daphne Huffman.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Catawba Funerals & Cremations.
Celebration of Life Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church
