SHELBY-- Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Woods, 47, formerly of 506 West Graham Street Apt. B, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Hospice House in Kings Mountain. She was the daughter of Billy Ray Williamson and the late Mary Ann Woods.
Libby was a 1985 graduate of Gaffney High School and was a member of Hoppers Chapel Baptist Church. Libby was a caring and wonderful mother, compassionate sister, hardworking friend and loving grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, decorating and last but not least shopping.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Ray Williamson and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Left to cherish her memory are her father, Billy Ray Williamson (Dorothy) of Shelby; two daughters, Cherita Woods and Whitney Woods, both of Shelby; her aunt, Mattie Shippy of Shelby who helped rear her; one brother, Robert Lee Woods of Shelby; step-brothers, Danny Ray Williams of Shelby, James Edwards Williams (Benito) of Puerto Rico and Jimmy Lee Williamson; three step-sisters, Doris Hopper (Rodney), Tonya Petty and April Williamson, all of Shelby; two grandsons, Deiterich Eskridge, Jr. and Christian Woods; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Monday at Hoppers Chapel Baptist Church, and at other times at 605 Oakley Street, Shelby.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Monday at Hoppers Chapel Baptist Church
Officiating: Pastor Robert Coleman
Burial: Sunset Cemetery.
