LAWNDALE - Nicholas "Nick" Gilbert Massie, 33, of 130 Ball Park Road, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby, surrounded by his family. Born Dec. 6, 1980, in Lucas County, Ohio, he was a son of Gilbert Leo Massie and Shirley Ann Kirkendall Yerkes.

Nick was in the U.S. Michigan Army National Guard. He was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 34 in Tecumseh, Michigan. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Matter.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Amber Trumbo Massie; a daughter,
Kassidy AnnMarie Massie; and a son, Damien Mackenzie Massie, both of the home; brother, Benjamin Massie of Casar; and three sisters, Dena Pitts of Fostoria, Ohio, Dori McDermand-Conn of Uniontown, Ohio, and Samantha Cooper of Kansas, Ohio.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Friday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston.
