SHELBY - Mr. O.T. Livsey, 68, of 2318 Ellis Road, Shelby, departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at his residence. He was born on May 31, 1944 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to O.T. Livsey, Sr. and Florinee Hughes Livsey.

O.T. was a graduate of Camp High School and joined Shoal Creek Baptist Church at an early age. He was employed at Asphalt Paving of Shelby for more than 20 years until his retirement. O.T. never met a stranger and was always known to take people in that needed help.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Littlejohn and Elizabeth Livsey.
Left to cherish fond memories of him are his wife of 30 years, Delia Moon Livsey; two daughters, Monique Mayberry of Greensboro, and April Reid (Carey) of Kannapolis; two sons, Chris Moon (Roquitta) of Evans Mills, N.Y. and James Livsey (Princess Hoey) of Shelby,; seven grandchildren, Quantay Reid, Travontay Reid, Elexuis Reid all of Kannapolis, Dazjaa Moon, Amiraha Livsey both of Shelby and Serenity Moon and Keemyah Craig both of N.Y.; two brothers, Curley Livsey (Michelle), and Robert Livsey (Vickie) both of Shelby; three sisters, Pearl Strong, Cammie Pressley (Beauford) and Shirley Brooks (Willie) all of Shelby; an additional sister-in-law, Adelle Hopper of Shelby; two aunts, Serphe Livsey of Gaffney, S.C. and Elizabeth Morgan of Shelby; a cousin who was like a sister, Dorothy "Cookie" Hosch of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1:30 -2 p.m. Tuesday at the church
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shoal Creek Baptist Church
