KINGS MOUNTAIN--Paul Scism, 66, resident of Kings Mountain, died Jan. 13, 2013, at his home.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Mary Hovis Scism and was also preceded in death by a brother, Nolan Scism.
He was co-owner of Southern Excavation in Kings Mountain, a member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church of Kings Mountain, and served in the Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart and other awards and medals.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Dellinger Scism of Kings Mountain; and brothers, Moffett Scism and wife Mary Lou, Bruce Scism and wife Martha, and David Scism and wife Linda, all of Kings Mountain.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. following the service in the Family Life Center of Patterson Grove Baptist Church.
Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Patterson Grove Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. Military honors will be provided by the Foothills Detachment.
