FOREST CITY- Ruth Lowery Bailey, 90, of Harmon St. died on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Saint Luke's Hospital in Colombus, North Carolina.

A native of Rutherford County, she was born on March 10, 1921, a daughter of the late Samuel and Cora Lee Wilkerson Lowery.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Bailey. She was retired from Broyhill and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bostic.
She is survived by one son, James Daniel Bailey of Nashville, Tennessee; one daughter, Beth Smart Fisher and husband John of Tryon; two sisters, Bertie Spratt of Ellenboro and Doris Henson of Forest City; four grandchildren, Karen Thompson, Brian Bailey, Paula Bailey and Kyle Smart; five great-grandchildren, Nate Smart, Raydan Smart, Victoria Taylor, Dereck Taylor and Brittany Bailey.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral Home
Funeral: 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Bostic
