CHARLOTTE- Timothy Everette McMurry, 43, of Charlotte, passed away at home surrounded by his friends and family on July 29, 2013. He was born on September 3, 1969, in Shelby.

Tim was a devout Christian and member of First Baptist Church, Charlotte. Tim was known for his enthusiasm, quick wit and unwavering dedication to his patients. He was a talented and dedicated healthcare professional. He began his career as a Paramedic for Cleveland County EMS and Mecklenburg County EMS. Tim graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and went on to work at Presbyterian Hospital for fourteen years. He also volunteered as a nurse at a local health clinic. Tim was a co-author of Cardiac Surgery Essentials for Critical Care Nursing.
Tim is survived by his wife, Mindy Mallard McMurry, and their young son, Timothy Spencer McMurry; his parents, Tommy and Janet Pittman; a sister, Tammy Stroud, and a brother, Mark Pittman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating Tim's life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church, 301 South Davidson Street, Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the service.
