GAFFNEY, S.C.-Tommy Reid Earls, 60, of 1645 Ellis Ferry Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at his residence.

Born in Boiling Springs, he was the husband, of Connie Newton Earls and son of the late Odell Prior Earls and Mary Jane Watts Earls. Mr. Earls previously worked in construction, was a United State Marine Corps veteran and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a son, Tommy Reid Earls Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Diane Benton and husband, Ronnie of Gaffney, S.C.; a brother, James Robert Earls of York; three sisters, Mary Lou Ramsey of York, Laura Jane Tessener of Shelby, NC, and Elizabeth Spears of York; two grandchildren, Matthew Benton and Michelle Benton. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Earls, Elvin Earls and Donies Marshall Earls and four sisters, Viola Jolly, Bitty Lanier, Adele Shellito and Nell Powell.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Blakely Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence.
Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Camps Creek Baptist Church Cemetery
