GAFFNEY, S.C. - Vincent (Van) Earl Gibson, 63, of 913 Lyman Street, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, S.C., he was the husband of Sandra Beheler Gibson and the son of Candice Hildebrand Gibson of Gaffney and the late Earl Gibson.
He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a mason, a shriner and an avid golfer. He was also a former Little League Football and Baseball Coach. He was the only Gaffney Babe Ruth Little League Baseball Coach to take his team to the World Series. Mr. Gibson was retired from Overnite/UPS Freight and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son, Greg Gibson and wife, Heather, of Gaffney, S.C.; a daughter, Shannon Gibson Keller and husband, Brad, of Boiling Springs, NC; three brothers, Kenny Gibson, Henry Gibson and Fred Gibson; and seven grandchildren, Dakota Keller, Bradley Keller, William Gibson, Harley Gibson, Jessie Gibson, Gracie Gibson and Dylan Gibson. Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by a son, Brian Casey Gibson.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:30 until 4 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence.
Funeral services: Will immediately follow visitation at 4 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel.
