SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Von William Swink, 92, of Spartanburg, S.C., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at his home. Born Aug. 18, 1921, in Shelby, he was the son of the late John William and Lula Ann Green Swink, and husband, for 58 years, of the late Inez Hoyle Swink.
A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Swink was formerly employed with the S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his sons, Von Russell Swink of Hampton, Ohio, Ronnie William Swink of Mountville, S.C., and Thomas Steven Swink of Greer, S.C.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Larry Jesse Swink.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, S.C. 29306. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
Graveside service: 2 p.m. Saturday in Clover Hill Cemetery, Kaiser
