BOILING SPRINGS - The Rev. William Allen "Bill" Stroud, 81, of Crestbrook Circle, died on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Hospice of Cleveland County at Wendover. A native of Chester, S.C., he was born on Monday, May 16, 1932, a son of the late William Green Stroud and Margaret Isabelle Allen Stroud of the home.
Rev. Stroud was a graduate of Furman University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a retired Baptist Minister, having served at South Union Baptist Church of Westminster, S.C., Haynes Memorial Baptist Church of Henrietta and Highland Baptist Church of Shelby, and retired from Cliffside Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Creed Stroud.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Allen Stroud, Jr., of Spartanburg, S.C.; his daughter, Lori Stroud Garner and husband Lee of Anderson, S.C.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Stroud Brooks and husband Tyler of Statesville, Allison Stroud of Salisbury, Kelsey Stroud and Kristen Stroud, both of Mooresboro, and Alyssa Garner and Jessica Garner, both of Anderson, S.C.
Visitation: The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center.
Celebration of life service: 7 p.m. Thursday at Boiling Springs Baptist Church
Officiated by: The Revs. Russell Myers, Dr. Jim Richardson, and Dr. Carroll Page
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday at Chester Memorial Gardens, 945 W. End Road, Chester, SC 29706
