MORGANTON- Wilma Brackett, 81, of Morganton passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, after several years of declining health. Born on May 24, 1933, in Casar, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Cullen Brackett and Myrtle Walker Brackett. Wilma was a member of Zora Baptist Church in Casar and was a very giving person who loved to travel. She owned and operated Wilma Music Center and also worked for Dr. Mildred T. Keene and Broughton Hospital.
Wilma is survived by her sister, Margie Shelton and her husband, Jack, of Morganton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her brothers, James Vonnie Brackett and Glen Brackett; and sisters, Aileen McFarland and Irene Jeffries.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
Funeral Service: 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church in Casar .
Officiated By: Rev. R. A. Brackett.
Burial: Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
