He was born in Fannin County, Georgia to Thomas M. and Florence Arp Gaddis and was a brother to eight sisters and one brother all of whom preceded him in death. He was the loving husband of Margaret Garrison Gaddis for more than 64 years before she preceded him in death in 2005. They shared a strong bond of love, faith, wisdom and with that bore great influence on their family and inspired love and respect from everyone they met. Miles was proud of his family, most especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Miles spent most of his life in North Belmont where he worked for Acme Spinning Company and later retired after many years as a master mechanic at Major League Lanes in Gastonia. He loved to garden, raising vegetables for many tables and freezers. He took great pride in his lawn and landscaping and could fix just about anything mechanical. Faith being central in his life, he was a long-time member of Centerview Baptist Church of North Belmont.
