KINGS MOUNTAIN- Thomas Woodward England, 88, passed away June 12, 2012, at Kings Mountain Hospice House, Kings Mountain.

He was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Greenville County, S.C., son of the late Broadus Greenberry England and Jessie Ponnie Head England.
Mr. England was a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. He was a very talented lead guitarist who performed at the Grand Ole Opry where he was a member. Thomas had a great love for children and a gift for storytelling.
Mr. England is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Louise England of the home; daughter, Sheila Hallman of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Stacy White and husband Jason of Gastonia, Matthew Hallman and wife Paula, Diane Hallman all of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Bowen Patrick White, Zoe Lynn Hallman, Jackson Thomas White; godson, Keith Laughter and wife Wanda of Kings Mountain; his piano player , Linda Belk and husband Johnny of Kings Mountain.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Thursday at the church
Funeral Service: 3 p.m. Thursday at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 618 Chestnut Ridge Church Road, Kings Mountain
