FOREST CITY - Willard Narce Bailey, 83, of Phillips Drive, died on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Cleveland County, he was born on March 8, 1930, a son of the late Void and Eva Dobbins Bailey.
He was retired from Snyder Mills and W.N.C. Wholesale Florist. Mr. Bailey was also a U.S. Army Veteran having served in The Korean War. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Forest City and the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved music.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three bothers, Theo Bailey, Marchel Bailey and Gene Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, Gaynell Owens Bailey; two daughters, Teresa Collins and husband Gary of Rutherfordton and Debbie Brewer and husband Rev. Rick Brewer of Rutherfordton; two sisters, Eloise Bailey Kanipe of Cliffside and Jerene Bailey Landreth and husband Horton of Cliffside; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
Celebration of life service: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Forest City
Officiated by: The Revs. Bob Philbeck and Kyle Turner
Burial: Will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard and Masonic Rites accorded by the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460.
