SHELBY - Evelina Porter Panther, 83, of 411 Stice Shoal Road, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Cleveland County, she was born Dec. 23, 1930, daughter of the late C. Neil and Gertrude Champion Porter.

She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Bobby and Norman Porter; and one sister, Lucille Greene.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, H.K. Panther of the home; one daughter, Judy Bolin and husband Thomas of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Porter of Kannapolis and Joan Spencer of Kings Mountain; one brother, Gene Porter and wife Joy of North Augusta, S.C.; three grandchildren, Timothy Scott, Jeffrey Todd and Josh Bolin; eight great-grandchildren, James, Jonathan, Kindra, Josh, Jennifer, Minnie and Jeremiah Bolin; one great-great-grandchild, Camden Bolin; one special great-grandchild, Makayla Bolin, who took care of her; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral service: 1 p.m. Friday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby Chapel
