KINGS MOUNTAIN - Johnny Roy Lorrey, 68, resident of 611 Gantt Street, died May 5, 2014, at his home. He was born in Greenville, S.C., to the late Chester Lorrey and Ozella Dover Lorrey.
Mr. Lorrey retired as a Sergeant from the United States Army after 20 years of service. He served in Vietnam and received five Purple Hearts, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and three Bronze Stars. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, and the American Legion, Cherryville.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Sandi Gottlieb Lorrey of Kings Mountain; son, Shawn Lorrey of Lakeland, Fla.; daughters, Susan Houser and husband Danny of Cherryville and Keli Lorrey of Lakeland, Fla.; and grandchild, Ashley Houser.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, with full Military Honors
