CASAR - Ellen Williams Cook, 89, of 126 Susan Road, passed away Tuesday, June
3, 2014, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. Born Sept. 26, 1924, in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Homer Williams and Madge White Williams. She was retired from Fasco as an assembly line worker and was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Summie Cook; a son, Arnold Cook; three brothers, Harold Williams, John Williams and Larston Williams; a sister, Faye Butler; and two sons-in-law, Haskell Shoemaker and Frank Simpson.
Survivors include three sons, Earl Cook and wife Ruby, David Cook and wife Belinda and Jimmy Cook and wife Jannette, all of Casar; four daughters, Mabellean Simpson of Polkville, Carolyn Shoemaker of Statesville, Joyce Walker and husband Johnny of Bessemer City and Clara McEntire and husband Kenny of Shelby; daughter-in-law, Betty Cook of Shelby; four brothers, Bill Williams of Shelby and Bob Williams, Paul Williams and Larry Williams, all of Kings Mountain; sister, Dorothy Grigg of Shelby; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Friday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church
Officiated by: The Revs. Chris Emory and Landon Rice
Burial: Will follow in Morris Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery
