KINGS MOUNTAIN - Betty Strong Clinton, 79, of 1601 Northwoods Drive, received her wings and took flight on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at home in Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland County, she was born on June 21, 1934, to the late John and Alice Ross.
Mrs. Clinton was a graduate of Davidson High School class of 1952. She was employed at Clevemont Mills for many years, and also at Bojangles. In addition, she was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was married to Benjamin Clinton, who preceded her in death in 1986.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons Gary Strong and Robert Bradley; daughter Norma Ellis; two sisters, Bernice Roseboro and Charlene Watson; and two brothers, John L. Ross and Ricky Ross.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patty Strong Bradshaw of the home, Tawanna Strong, Alesio Jefferies, Belinda Womic, Pamela White (Clarence), Minnie Clinton and Eartha Clinton; and a son, Daryl Strong; her sister, Inez Blair; two aunts, Darnell Williams and Alberta Spencer; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and at other times at the home.
Funeral service: 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church
Officiated by: The Rev. Gardin
Burial: Will take place at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
