DUNNELLON, FLA. - Claude Robert "Bob" Hughes, 94, resident of Dunnellon, Fla., passed away June 22, 2014, at the Citrus Hospice House, Lecanto, Fla. Mr. Hughes, the youngest of 12 children, was born April 27, 1920, in Kings Mountain, to the late William Gordon Hughes and Florence (Wells) Hughes.

Bob and his family moved to Florida in 1961. He was a retired ranch and farm manager who served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a long-time deacon at First Baptist Church, Dunnellon, and is currently a member of Maranatha Baptist Church, Ocala, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Sue Franklin Hughes, Dunnellon, Fla.; sons, James Hughes and wife Carolyn, Inverness, Fla., Buddy Lee Hughes and wife Wylene, Six Mile, S.C.; daughter, Bobbie Sue Brown and husband Richard, Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral service: 3 p.m. Saturday at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel
