POLKVILLE - Ronetta Owensby Lackey took up residence in Heaven with her Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Ronetta was born in Lynchburg, Va., on March 8, 1965, and was the daughter of Ronell and Ann Owensby.

She is a graduate of Broome High School in Spartanburg County, S.C., and Gardner-Webb University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree. She was a career elementary teacher in Cleveland County for 26 years. Her love for her students was unsurpassed.
Surviving are her son, Taylor Lackey; her daughter, Savanah and husband Dustin Jones; Savanah and Taylor's father, Chris Lackey; parents, Ronell and Ann Owensby; sister Jenny and Husband Mike Warren; nephews Hunter and Grant Warren; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family will be forever grateful for the love and prayers of those for whom Ronetta esteemed and loved so highly.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at Polkville Baptist Church, 4214 Polkville Road (Hwy. 226), Polkville.
Celebration of life service: 4 p.m. Friday at Polkville Baptist Church
