LAWNDALE - William Ray Ledford, 85, of Ball Park Road, passed away July 18, 2014, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.
Born Nov. 10, 1928, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late William Ticie Ledford and Ruby Ray Toney Ledford.

He was owner of Ray Ledford Music Studio and was a member of the Ray Ledford and Company Band. He played with other musicians in Cleveland County and surrounding areas. Ray was also a craftsman of guitars having made over 250 of them. Ray was also a member of Double Shoals Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ethel Smart Ledford and brother, Bob Ledford.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathy White of Shelby; brother, Don Ledford of Shelby; sister, Linda Putnam of Lawndale; two grandchildren, Chris White of Salisbury and Dorian White of Lawndale; one great-grandchild, Ali White; and a little companion, Scoobie.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Brackett officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum
