CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Mary Lineberger Hawkins, 94, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, in Charlotte.

She was born in Shelby, the daughter of the late William Mundy and Mattie Flack Lineberger. She received her education at the Southern Workshop in Asheville and Greensboro College. She was married twice, first to Hubert Wilson, who died in 1938, then to Thomas W. Hawkins Jr. of Charlotte, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, William E. Hawkins of Cofax and Thomas W. Hawkins III of Shelby; daughter, Martha Hawkins Curran of Charlotte; sister, Adeline Lineberger Lutz of Spartanburg, S.C.; six grandchildren, Laurie Hawkins Gilliam, William Edward Hawkins Jr., Albert Thomas Hawkins, Benjamin Hawkins Curran, John Brody Curran and Thomas W. Hawkins IV; four great-grandchildren, Guinevere Millisor Atkins, Natalie Michelle Hawkins, Wilson Lee Hawkins and Brian Paul Millisor; and one great-great-grandchild, Micah James Atkins.
Memorial Service: Saturday, Nov. 15, 2 p.m., Central United Methodist Church, Shelby (her father was one of the founders)
