GAFFNEY, S.C. - Mr. Travis Birton Hamrick, 84, of 2227 Boiling Springs Hwy., died Monday, April 13, 2009, at home.

A native of Cleveland County, N.C., he was born on Aug. 3, 1924, a son of the late Birt and Maude Pearson Hamrick. Travis was a self employed farmer and businessman and a member of Camps Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Humphries Hamrick; three brothers, Cleavy Hamrick, Hord Hamrick and Marshall Hamrick; one step-brother, Melford McCombs; and one sister, Vernie Dixon.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Ethel Hamrick, Danny and Benita Hamrick and Scott and Teresa Hamrick, all of Gaffney; one sister, Lois Allen of Salisbury; seven grandchildren, Tonda Phillips and husband, Chad, Heather Phillips and husband, Kurt, Travis Hamrick, Shannon Mabe and wife, Krystal, Josh Mabe and wife, Jennifer, Clint Bridges, Brandy Truelove and husband, Travis; and nine great-grandchildren, Blake Phillips, Brooke Phillips, Aleah Phillips, Jonas Mabe, Mason Mabe, Melania Truelove, Lane Truelove, Chase Bridges and Kayleigh Bridges.
Funeral: Thursday, April 16, 2 p.m., Camps Creek Baptist Church
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour before the service, in the church fellowship hall.
Burial: Cleveland Memorial Park
