LAWNDALE - Mr. Desmond Jamar Wimbush, 20, departed this life on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born March30, 1989, he was the son of Samuel (Harretta) Wimbush of the home and Polly (George) Cooper of Shelby. Desmond was a member at First Baptist Church Lawndale, where he served on the Media Committee.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by six brothers, Samuel O'Neal Wimbush of Shelby, Maurice Wimbush and Terry Kee Jr. of the home, and Kentrell Cannon, Brandon Cooper and Dion Cooper of Shelby; two sisters, Kristie Kee of Charlotte and Makyla Cooper of Shelby; one nephew, Nelson Brown of Lawndale; his grandmother, Julia (Benny) Smith; five uncles, Bobby and Louis Cannon of Shelby, Joe (Jonnie) Wimbush, Tony and Mike (Lola), all of Hickory; Melvin (Mary) Clark of Kings Mountain and Anthony Clark of the home; seven aunts, Lisa and Wanda Cannon and Dorothy (David) Roseboro, all of Shelby, Geraldine Wr4ay, Florence Early, Lorene Wimbush, all of Hickory, and Mary Wimbush and Rosie (Mitch) Terrill, all of Shelby; a special cousin, Makiyah Allen; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at First Baptist Church Lawndale
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes before the service.
