TRYON - Mrs. Inez Hall Brannon, 90, of 385 Turner Road, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.

A native of Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Irene John Hall. She retired from BiLo in Landrum after 30 years, where she had worked as cashier and bookkeeper. She had worked as a riveter on fighter planes during World War II in Michigan. Her hobbies were gardening and cooking and she was an avid bird lover. Her greatest love was her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Dennis Brannon and wife, Carmen, of Anderson, S.C.; a daughter, Diane Walker and husband, Ron, of Summerfield, N.C.; two step sons, Norm Brannon and wife, Marian, of Tryon and Troy Brannon and Judy Collins of Green Creek; seven grandchildren, Lynn Bridges and husband, Rick, Ronald Smith, April Smith and Keith Carter, Susan Rippy and husband, Chris, Alan Brannon and wife, Sarah, Laurie Brannon and Lindsay Walker; and seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Griffin, Kasey Griffin, Billy Smith, Katlin Carter, Kerri Byrd, Jamie Smith and Sierra Rippy.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Brannon Shehan; and a step son, Wally Brannon.
Graveside Service: Wednesday, Feb. 17, 3:30 p.m., Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, N.C.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday, 2 to 3 p.m., before the service, at Petty Funeral Home and other times the family will be at the home.
