SHELTON, CONN.-Robert L. Murhamer age 82, entered into rest on Saturday June 18, 2010, in the Gardner Heights Convalescent Center.
He was the devoted husband of the late Jacqueline Jennings Murhamer, and the late Dorothy Henderson Murhamer.
Mr. Murhamer was born in Indianola, Pa., July 12, 1928, son of the late John and Ellen Murhamer and was a lifelong Shelton resident
He lived in Shelby, N.C. for 11 years. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, and a member of the VFW Post 1236 in Shelton. He was a past captain and charter member of the Echo Hose Fire Co No. 1 in Shelton. He was employed at Sikorsky's for over 15 years, retiring in 1995.
He is the beloved father, of Cheryl Cameron and her husband, Peter, Linda Denton and her husband, Richard, Patricia Robertson, and the late Cynthia Sheehy.
He is the brother, of Ethel Shaw of Shelton and Betty Webb, of Ocala, Fla., and also leaves 15 loving grandchildren including his grandson Robert Murhamer who had a very special relationship with his gramps, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother William Murhamer.
Mr. Murhamer's family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Gardner Height's, Cedar Unit for their loving care.
Visitation: Friends may greet his family on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road Shelton On Wednesday
