SHELBY-Janice Clark Putnam, 89 of Leslie Drive, Shelby, died on Friday, Nov. 09, 2012, at her residence.
A native of Cherokee County, S.C., she was born on July 7, 1923, a daughter of the late R.P. Clark and Ruth Mintz Clark. She retired as a lab technician from Fiber Industries. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church of Shelby. She loved to sew, quilt, garden, cook and take care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Devaney Putnam and Bobby Putnam; one grandson, Joseph Eury; two brothers, Bill Clark and James Robert Clark; and one sister, Melba McCracken.
She is survived by four daughters, Carol McCraw of Shelby, Nancy Jolly and husband Dan of Mooresboro, Doris Swafford and husband James of Shelby, and Marie Eury and husband Jimmy of Shelby; her grandchildren, Gary Putnam, Karen Armour and husband Tony, Sherry Horne, Rhonda McSwain and husband David, Rehnea Walker, Jennifer Toney and husband Kevin, Christy Kennedy and husband John, Amy Freeman, Wendy Buchanan and husband Stephen; seventeen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Vickie Ross and Mary Maxwell; and many special nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends after the service on Sunday at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Carol McCraw.
Funeral Service: 3 p.m. Sunday at A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel

Burial: 2 p.m. Monday at Cleveland Memorial Park
