LAWNDALE-Jeannette Hoyle Tillman, 89, of 129 Old Belwood Road, Lawndale, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Peak Resources in Shelby.

She was born in Cleveland County on Aug. 14, 1923, to the late Hugh Dixon Hoyle and Vivian Sarah Thompson Hoyle. Jeannette was retired form Cleveland County Schools where she worked as the food service manager for Belwood School and Burns High School. She was a member of Kadesh United Methodist Church, where she was a lifetime member of United Methodist Women.
Jeannette also taught Sunday school and vacation bible school for more than 40 years. She will be lovingly remembered for her needle work and punching of Christmas ornaments that she made and gave as gifts to family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Blaine Franklin Tillman; and brother, Jack T. Hoyle.
She is survived by her son, Neal Tillman and wife Beth of Lawndale; two daughters, Joyce Willis and husband Ken of Lawndale, and Becky Earley and husband Chuck of Shelby; sister-in-law, Ruby Sain of Lawndale; seven grandchildren, Kim Elliott and husband Bruce, Tammy Clark and husband Rodney, Teresa Abernathy and husband Mick, Terry Tillman, Tanya Earl and husband Jeff, Tad Tillman and wife Evie, and Jenny Day and husband Chad; eighteen great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral Service: 3 p.m. Sunday at Kadesh United Methodist Church, Lawndale
