SHELBY-Ms. Betty Jean Hopper, 50, of 928 A, Pleasant Drive, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at her home.
A native of Cleveland County, she was born Oct. 2, 1962, daughter of the late Ernest and Marjorie Allen Hopper.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a member of North Lafayette Baptist Church in Shelby.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Bobby Dean Hopper.
She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Philbeck, Charity Thomas and husband Aaron, all of Shelby; two sisters, Linda Kidd of Shelby, Lisa Tesseneer and husband Homer of Mooresboro; three brothers, Jerry Hopper of Shelby, Steve Hopper and wife Angie of Fallston, and Daniel Hopper of Butner; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Shauna, Noah, and Jacob; and former son-in-law, Shaun Deyton of Caroleen.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church before the service.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Unity Independent Baptist Church, Shelby
