KINGS MOUNTAIN- Ruth Ellen Todd Stone, 93, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Kings Mountain Hospital.

Born in Gaston County on Aug. 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Ray and Addie Short Todd.
She was a member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, was a member of the WMU, and had a heart for missions. She was in the Women's Army Core during World War II and worked for Dover Mill as a winder. She enjoyed needlework, cooking and working in the yard.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Stone; a sister, Marvilee Baker; and a granddaughter, Amanda Stone.
Mrs. Stone is survived by two sons, David Stone and wife Patricia of Va., and Grady Stone of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Penny Stone of Kings Mountain; a sister, Mabel Wallace of Kings Mountain; a brother, Bill Todd of Fla.; four grandsons, Tim Stone, Thomas Stone, Patrick Stone, and Robert Stone; and a great-grandson, Steven Stone.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Allen Memorial Baptist Church
