Josephine Jefferies Obituary

SHELBY - Josephine Hines Jefferies, 90, of 227 South Fork Drive, died Feb. 26, 2014, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. She was born in Rutherford County to the late Irvin and Ida McEntyre Hines.
Joesphine was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. She retired from Shelby City School system after years of service. She was a very special lady loved by many, but none more than her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Ulysses G. Jefferies, Sr.; three sisters, Mary Roy, Eva Hines and Bernice Barrow; one brother, Howard Hines; and grandson, Bobby Jennings.
She is survived by six daughters, Barbara Jennings of Brooklyn, N.Y., Grace Hopper, Betty Gill, Priscilla Jefferies, Deborah Tuft and Pamela (Warren) Wray; two sons, Ulysses Jefferies and Donald (Margaret) Jefferies, all of Shelby; 25 grandchildren; a host of great- grandchildren; three nieces; and one nephew.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will meet at 2404 Bramble Wood Drive, Shelby.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Genesis Funeral Service and Chapel
Officiated by: The Rev. Lillie Mack
Burial: Sunset Cemetery
Funeral home: Genesis Funeral Service and Chapel is serving the family.
