FORT WORTH, TX- Funeral services for Dorothy Bates, 86, will be held at 12 noon Monday, March 11, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with Minister David Malone officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born in Marshall, TX on June 3, 1926 to Ernest and Flossie Garrett and passed away on March 7, 2013 in Fort Worth, TX. She was a retired teacher and enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, reading, flower gardening and loved cats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John David Bates, her parents, and brother, Ernest Dean Garrett, Jr. She is survived by her daughters: Carol Martin and husband, Michael, Susan Logan and husband, John; grandchildren, April and Wes Martin, John, Jennifer and Daniel Logan, and Stephanie Drumm; sisters, Merle Powell and husband, Guy, Gwen Michaud and husband, Carroll, Shirley Cramer and husband, Rodney, Margaret Gordon, Jane Adrian and husband, Bill.

Pallbearers will be Wes Martin, John J. Logan, Daniel Logan, Robert Estrella, Russ Michaud and Michael Michaud.
