Not sure what to say?

Chris, I'm sorry that I was unable to pay my respects in person, but Steve and I are so sorry for your loss. I didn't know your dad very well, but he has a great son so that's a testament to him. Deepest sympathies, The Saunders

To Bill's Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I spent a good part of my childhood hanging with him.. We made model airplanes, hunted, fished, bicycled and in general had a great childhood together. Our Mothers were great friends too.
We lost touch in adult life, but I will never forget my time with him. He was the big brother I never had. I will miss him.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Bill Conrad Gardner our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Bill. And to Bill it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during Korean Waer while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Bill, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Bill's family and loved ones.

I'll always remember the time I went fishing in the channel, in sleeting weather, and I wouldn't stop until I hit 100 fish. "Uncle Bill" made sure I stayed warm in coveralls and just let this girl go! <3 I am sorry to hear of his passing. Wishing you all peace.
