Shreveport, LA - Arthur Frederick Reasor, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9th, at Osborn Funeral Home. A graveside service celebrating his life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10th, at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans
Cemetery, in Keithville, Louisiana, with full military honors. Officiating will be Rev. Jo Ann Cooper.
Art was born in Big Flats, New York on June 3, 1923, to the late Arthur Reasor, Sr. and Myrtle Reasor. Art along with his wife were long time members of Noel United Methodist Church in Shreveport. He retired after 20 years of active service in the United States Army
Air Corp/Air Force.
Art joined the United States Army Air Corps on November 14, 1942, and was honorably discharged on February 20, 1946. He joined the United States Air Force
in 1951 and served until 1968 as a Flight Engineer on B-29s and heavy transport aircraft (C-124 Globemaster; C-133 Cargomaster) transporting goods and troops to over 60 countries during his tenure logging in over 13,000 hours of flying time. Art was proud to have served his country during WWII
, Korea, and the Vietnam conflict.
After retiring from the Air Force, Art delivered mobile homes and was a quality control inspector for Skyline Corporation in Bossier City, Louisiana. Thereafter, he also worked as a State Fire Marshal.
Art is survived by his wife of 31 years, Billy Jean Kemp Reasor; sons: Kevin Arthur Reasor and wife, Lynn of Arizona; Karl Frederick Reasor and wife, Mary of Shreveport; Kerwin O'Neal Reasor of Florida; stepsons: Bill Kemp and wife, Marie of Colorado; Robert Kemp, of California; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Eugene Francis Reasor of New York; and several nieces and nephews.
