Bobby "Rex" Tilley

BETHANY, LA - Bobby "Rex" Tilley was born January 26, 1940. He left this earth for his final resting place surrounded by his family on Sunday April 7, 2013 at 4:15 a.m. Rex fought a brave battle with cancer and prepared all of those who loved him to let him go. He was excited to meet his Lord in Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Tilley, mother, Rooksy Tilley and one brother, Rudy Tilley. Rex is survived by his loving wife, Linda Tilley and son, Wendell Tilley and wife, Andrea and 3 precious granddaughters, Rook, Neva and Floan of Nashville TN. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Jerry Tilley and sister, Joy Fergus. One step son Danny Cowser and wife, Mary and granddaughter Emily and grandson Landon of Frisco, TX. Rex was very blessed with countless other special friends and family.

He served in the Army Reserves for 6 yrs. and retired as a Shreveport firefighter with 20 years of service. He had a great passion for life, spending time with Linda traveling and restoring old cars with friends. He also shared a love for music with his son Wendell. He attended Grace Pointe Nazarene church.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday April 13, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel in Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be David Craig. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Athens, LA.

The family will receive visitors on Friday April 12, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
