Clarence Etta Johnson
Clarence Etta Johnson passed away peacefully on February 13, 2013. Her family and friends will hold her remembrance on February 21, 2013 at the Winnfield Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.
Clarence Etta was a Shreveport native born on December 20, 1924. After receiving a BA degree from Prairie View University and a Master's of Education from Wiley College, she spent 26 years teaching first grade students in the Caddo Parish school district predominantly at Mooretown, Oak Park, Summer Grove Elementary schools and the Department of Defense School District in Naples, Italy for five years. During her life, Clarence Etta was very active in the Shreveport community and was an active member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority graduate chapter Beta Epsilon Zeta for many years. After retiring from teaching, she volunteered her services to the American Red Cross, local Shreveport elementary schools and libraries. She was a loving wife to Robert O. Johnson for over 57 years and caring mother to three children, Ted Johnson (Layton, Utah), Raul Johnson (Lorton, Virginia), and Mimi Johnson (Frisco, Texas) who will greatly miss her love and laughter. She is survived by her husband, three children, daughter-in-law (Brenda Johnson), two grandsons (Terence and Brandon) and two great granddaughters (Cambrie and Layna).
