David "Dave" Edward Herminghuysen, 80, of Shreveport, LA died from leukemia on the morning of February 21, 2014 with his family at his side. . After serving in Asia, his Air Force career landed him at Barksdale Air Force Base. He then met and fell in love with Clariece Boulware. David Edward spent most of his career working for Gould Battery where he worked until he retired.
He defined himself first and foremost as a Christian. He attended Barksdale Baptist Church. He also loved gardening, attracting birds to his garden, reading and caring for his various pets. He cherished all life. He was a kind and gentle man. He would rather catch a bug in his house and put it out than kill it.
