Debora Ann Cash

Debora Ann (Bonty) Cash

Shreveport, LA

On January 11, 1959 at 12:00 noon Almighty God breathed Debora Ann Bonty (Cash) into the lives of Kenneth and Annie Bonty in the state of California. Debora's life was full, and from a child she showed a desire to impact her generation for good.

Many years later she was standing in line waiting to hear the Word of God at Crenshaw Christian Center under Dr. Fred Price in Los Angeles, Calif., and a male standing in line ahead of her saw her and sparks exploded. That man, Dr. Artis Cash, pursued her and on June 12, 1982 they entered into a commitment to grow old together in Holy Matrimony.

During that span of time the two of them set out to bless their generation. Many can give testimonies of how their lives experienced the love of God through her.

Dr. Debora Cash, D.D. later became First Lady of Shreveport Christian Church. Through Friends International Christian University, she organized a Christian Prophetic Dance Troupe of young people, so that the younger generation could express their love for Christ.

Dr. Debora then realized that the women in the Church needed an outlet to encourage one another through good and bad times, bringing out of her innermost being "WOW" (Women of Wisdom), revealing women have stored up wisdom that can be easily tapped. The ministry brought in speakers who thought they were coming to speak for others, but through this ministry healings of all types were experienced by the speakers, furthering the Gospel principle of Multiplication.

Dr. Debora was active in the ministry while being diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer in 2009.

She saw the good in all people. On one occasion a newspaper reporter wrote a negative report about her husband (Dr. Artis Cash). Dr. Debora wrote him a letter and asked him to reconsider his position, showing him a side of her husband that this area did not know. He did reconsider, and thanked her for her position.

During this extraordinary marriage she gave birth to four sons, Artis Jr., Stephen, Matthew, and David - All are saved and believe that they too will see her again.

She has a step-daughter, Karen (A.J.) Jenkins (Los Angeles, CA); a fantastic Mother, Mrs. Annie Bonty; three brothers Kenneth Jr., Miles, and Byron; three brothers-in-law, Earnest, Robert and Herman; sister-in-law, Ella; (Ella), two faithful caregivers, Colbelita Thomas and Taulese Freeman Church, members of Shreveport Christian Church; many daughters of the faith, and a host of relatives spanning two coasts.

Many other miracles, signs and wonders were done through her earthly walk, and on May 3, 2014 at 11:35 a.m., she accepted her temporary resting place in Heaven with the Almighty Lord, knowing that when He, Jesus, returns she will be with Him. She is leaving pain, sickness and disease behind, and a legacy that will forever produce more believers in Christ Jesus.

A book, "Five Years of Hell on Earth, and Yet I Prevailed," authored by Dr. Debora Ann Cash is pending.

As you read this obituary Dr. Debora is still touching others and You!
