SHREVEPORT, LA- Frederick David Denner of Shreveport, Louisiana, died Friday October 26, 2012. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 at University Church of Christ. Burial will be at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery following services.

Fred was born the seventh of thirteen children to Roy and Lida (Ertel) Denner in Rock Creek, Kansas, on May 13, 1932. The family moved to Seymour, Missouri, where Fred grew up and graduated from high school. Fred is a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a 1959 graduate of Ohio University. He began his career at Western Electric (AT&T) in Columbus, Ohio, later transferring to Shreveport. He was chosen to be part of a team that built the AT&T facility in Bangkok, Thailand. Throughout his career, Fred was directly involved in the production of many of the telephones used in homes across the country. After retirement from AT&T, he enjoyed golf and was an avid gardener. Fred was a member of the Church of Christ, where he had served as an elder and teacher.

In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by three brothers: Junior, Robert, and Gale Denner, and by sisters: Wilma Cook, Betty Cummins, and Ruth Hanson.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia (Knight) Denner, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by two daughters: Judith Denner of Newark, OH, and Frances Crowe of Wylie, TX; four brothers: Albert (Duane) of Marion, TX, Bill of Granville, OH, Charles of Norwalk, CA, and Keith of Montgomery, TX; two sisters: Phyliss Herring of Seymour, Mo, and Glenna (Mae) Fine of West Plains, MO; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John Billingsley, Jim Stanley, Wheeler Flaherty, Dana Bruhnke, Perry Martin and Roy Davis.
