Gladys "Betty" Sonntag

Gladys "Betty" Sonntag passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 as the result of an automobile accident. Betty was born October 10, 1922 in Mallard, Iowa. She met and married her husband Colonel (ret.) Willie H. Sonntag in Hobbs, New Mexico. Betty is survived by two daughters, Diane Smith and husband Frank,.of Baton Rouge and Debbie Matos and husband Hector of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Brandy D'Armond and husband Blaine, Michael Mason and wife Susu, Julie Lewis and Holly Mason; six great-grandchildren who have blessed her life, Austin, Camille, Morgan, Maddie, Emma and Sophie. She was devoted to her family and loved ones and she will be greatly missed. At 90 years young, she was still very busy and active. One of her favorite past times was bowling and she enjoyed the friendships in her bowling leagues. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Resthaven Funeral Home 11817 Jefferson Hwy from 2pm until funeral service at 3pm.
