Gloria Carroll Cook
Shreveport, LA - After a lengthy illness, our world lost a beautiful person on Christmas Eve, 2012. Gloria, you were a cherished gift from our Heavenly Father. To those that had the privilege to know you, you were the rock, that one person that would give it your all. You were so well known for your kindness, your fight, your strength, and mostly, your love. You brought light to darkness. You believed in us when others didn't. It's hard to say that her family was limited because if you knew her, you were quickly family. From the poor to the rich, the young to the old, this beautiful soul understood you were special and made sure you knew it. She lived with excitement, joy, and a fire that never understood the meaning of can't or limits. Her heart was always our shelter, our peace, our place of comfort. What an example of living a life full of love. Jesus says so much about love and that's exactly what you did, you were the example, you were the director for so many of us. You also had that humor that attracts anyone, you lived with so much fun and excitement. I know your teams, LSU and the Saints lost a fan, but your biggest fans, your family and friends, lost an excellent, mother, grandmother, and friend. Often we ask, "why God, why her and why now"? But be comforted because sometimes God wants His good fruit now. So you fly high Gloria, we will miss you, yet we are comforted because your footprint will always be in our hearts and minds. You will never be forgotten. You are our heart. We love you!
