SHREVEPORT - Ilse Helene Chiasson passed away on October 26th. She is survived by her children, Evelyn Winter of Galveston, Texas, Michael Chiasson of Plano, Texas, and Henry Chiasson of Springfield, Missouri, as well as numerous grand- and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Shreveport on Friday, November 2nd at 12 noon, and visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home at 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Ilse was born in Sinn, Germany, on April 21st, 1927. She lived through WWII as a teenager, along with two older sisters, one younger sister, and her mother. She married Henry Chiasson of Morse, Louisiana, in 1947. Henry was serving in the U.S. Army when they met. They were married for 56 years until he passed away in 2003.

Ilse was educated as a primary school teacher and had her own Kindergarten. She provided a loving home for her husband and children, and at times for some of her grandchildren. She was a fun-loving person who loved to dance and go to parties. She played a mean hand of Canasta, and spent many hours playing with her family members and her friends, some of them other women of German origin in the Shreveport/Bossier City area.
