Johnny Adger, Jr.
Johnny Adger, Jr. was born April 20, 1950 as the fifth of eleven children to the late Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Mamie T. Adger in Benton, Louisiana. He was a lifelong and faithful member of the Carolina Bluff Methodist Church. His commitment to his church was evident as he served in several capacities including Ministry to Men president and a steward under the leadership of several pastors.
He was employed at Atlas Refinery for several years after school. For the past 37 years he was a driver for HalliburtonServices. During his tenure at Halliburton, he was promoted several times and received many awards as a driver and as an instructor.
Johnny was an excellent husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, co-worker and friend. He will be sorely missed. He waspreceded in death by both parents, his son, Roderick: one sister, Mamie Adger; one brother, Jeffery Adger.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ivory Lee; one son, Johnny III (Trae); one granddaughter, Rodja'nae Linnear; three sisters, Willie Mae Hudson, Parie Lee Hudson and Heddy (Clyde) Adger; five brothers, Robert Adger, David Adger,Levon (Regina), Leon (Cassandra) Adger, and Calvin (Vickie) Adger: one aunt, Doris Mullen; five sisters-in-law, PearlineBlake, Irene Jones, Ethel Lee Beasley, Essie Lee Young and Daisy Rachal; one brother-in-law, Robert Lee (Nancy) Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 in the Chapel of Winnfield Funeral Home.
