Greenwood, LA- Funeral services for Leroy Hillman, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Kenny Joyner. Interment will follow in Forest Park West. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
Leroy was born on August 14, 1931 in Kisatchie, LA to Levi and Blanche Hillman. He passed away on December 28, 2012 in Shreveport. He worked as an auto mechanic and was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Leroy proudly served his community as the Mayor of Greenwood for twelve years from 1976 through 1988. Leroy also enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sandra Hall Hillman; sons, Terry Hillman and wife, Gloria, Kenny Hillman, Bryon Hillman; daughters, Kim Davis and husband, Keith, Amanda Manning and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Danielle, Dylan, Lesli, Cody, Hannah, Erica, Brandon, Blaine, Elizabeth, Emily, Piper, Madison, Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Jazzlyn and Paisley; and his siblings, William Hillman, Opal Denio, Margie Brown, and JT Hillman. Leroy also leaves behind his beloved "chair buddy" companion, Pe`Pe.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Manning, Bruce Dupont, Butch Ivie, Brandon Davis, Blaine Davis, and Keith Davis.
