BENTON, LA - Lila Smith Booth of Benton, LA was born April 23, 1925 in Baskin, LA and died February 25, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.

Lila graduated from Northwestern State University with a BS in Nursing in January 1958 and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi. She became a Certified Nurse Practitioner in April 1981 and was one of the first in the State of LA. She retired from the V.A. Hospital where she worked in the ER and the CCC Unit. She was a member of Benton United Methodist Church. Her greatest joys were her family, baking her special goodies at Christmas and working in her awesome gardens.

Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Archie T. Booth, Jr.; daughter, Celia Scull; great granddaughter, Emaleigh Olson and six siblings.

She is survived by her son, Archie T. Booth, III and wife, Elizabeth and children, Sarah, Archie T., IV and Megan; daughters, Allison Booth and husband, David Pippenger, Lori and husband, Dr. Bruce Rayburn and children, Lorin, Katie, Jordan and Bonni; granddaughter, Jamie and husband, Jason Renna and children, Robert and MaKenzie; grandson, Rocky Parker and daughter, Brynleigh. April Miller and children, Morgan and Eden and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to or the organization of your choice.
