DOYLINE, LA - Graveside services for Maynard Delaney, 96, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Hill Crest Memorial Park with Reverend Tom Brown officiating.
Mr. Delaney was born September 15, 1916 in Caddo Parish to Louis and Rose Testa Delaney. He was one of 11 children. He passed away after a short illness on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Bossier City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 70 years Nell Delaney, son Tyrone Delaney and four sisters.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon Delaney Twitty and husband Walter of Doyline, LA, five grandchildren, five sisters, one brother Roy Delaney and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Delaney was a WWII
veteran. He was active in many organizations including; W.H. Booth Lodge #380, Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree Mason, El Karubah Shrine; motorcycle unit, and captain of the patrol, Jesters Mitho Grotto and The American Legion.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home for giving him great care and compassion.
