Shreveport, LA - Funeral services for Mr. Richard Lee Moore, 79, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Winnfield Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Keithville, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Winnfield Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Officiating will be Pastor Donald Taylor of Stoner Hill Baptist Church. Prayer will be provided by Pastor Marshall of Hurricane Bluff, and words of comfort from Pastor Houston from St. Paul Baptist Church.

Mr. Moore went to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born on October 22, 1934, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to Mrs. Mattie Brown Amey Farmer and Mr. Willie James Moore. Mr. Moore retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years, 8 months and some days. He traveled extensively in the United States and a tour of duty in Ankara, Turkey for two years with his wife and seven children. After retiring from the military Mr. Moore became a business entrepreneur and operated Cross Lake Bar for over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and one of his brothers. He was one of four children.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Minnie Mae Hamilton Moore, son Charles (Marvel), Clarence, Marvia, Cynthia (Bernell), Roberta, Carl (Jacquede), and Melissa (Alvin). Mr. Moore was also blessed with 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Moore's grandsons, along with honorary pallbearers including his sons and grandsons. Our family wishes to thank the many family members and friends who supported Mr. Moore through his time of illness.
